At the age of 7, while carrying his brother Frank, Millard fell
& broke his left arm which he later lost to gangrene. Millard could hunt with a
single shot shotgun & get off two shots at a covey of quail by holding the gun
under his stump & reloading with his right hand. The only thing Millard found
that he could not do was string barbed wire.
Millard and Nancy raised the Harrison boys after they were abandoned by their
mother.
