Mary Ethel Scism Beaver

LAWNDALE — Mrs. Mary Ethel Scism Beaver, 92, of 3745 Rube Spangler Road, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.

A native of Cleveland County, she was born July 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Odus and Minnie Cook Scism. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Harm Beaver, and three brothers, Charles, Forest and J.P. Scism.

She is survived by her sisters, Ora Jones of Lawndale, Marie Harrison and Ava Wilson of Shelby; and a nephew who grew to be her favorite son, Fred Pritchard of Lawndale.

The funeral will be Thursday at 5 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Burial will be at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home.
