Wayne Vesco Newton, 67, of Lawndale, North Carolina, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, a truck driver with Bost Bakery before his retirement, died at his residence on Tuesday, February 18, 2003. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2003, 6-8 p.m., at Stamey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 639, Fallston, North Carolina. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 21, 11 a.m., at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Cecil Buff and the Rev. Dale Angel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park. Memorial donations are appreciated to Upper Cleveland Rescue, P.O. Box 278, Lawndale, NC 28090. Arrangements entrusted to Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston, North Carolina.
