Christine Campbell Martin
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Christine Campbell Martin, 74, of 238 Flat Rock
Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at home.
Born June 12, 1927, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Rush
Alvin and Vernie Mae Heafner Campbell. She retired after 20 years with
Shadowline. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church for 53 years
and was a member of the Friendship Club for Seniors, Friendship Sunday School
Class and United Methodist Women.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julius
Hoyle Martin; an infant brother, Gene Alvin Campbell; and a sister, Montrose C.
Floyd.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lynn Martin of
Lawndale, Michael and Pamela Martin of Belmont; a brother, J. Gary Campbell of
Lawndale; two sisters, Joan C. Newton of Casar and Carolyn C. Jenkins of Shelby;
and four grandchildren, Brandon Martin, Alex Martin, Jeremy Martin and Julie
Martin.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church with
the Rev. Eddie Ingram officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30
minutes before the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home,
Fallston.
