Bobby Lee Blanton
LAWNDALE — Mr. Bobby Lee Blanton,
68, of 136 E. Stage-coach Trail, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Cleveland County on Nov. 3, 1935. He was a retired supervisor of
samples at Impact Furniture and a member of Blessed Way Baptist Church, where he
was a Sunday school teacher and served on the Finance Committee.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene Self Blanton and his
parents, the Rev. William “Bill” and Vangie Lee Crotts Blanton.
He is survived by his second wife, Christine Ashley Blanton of the home; a son
and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Pat Blanton of Casar; a daughter and husband,
Carolyn Blanton Poston and Michael of Casar; a stepson, Phillip Wright of
Lawndale; three brothers, the Rev. Wayne Blanton of Newton, Jack Blanton of
Connelly Springs and Jerry Blanton of Kings Mountain; three sisters, Betty
Huffman of Connelly Springs, Hazel Harmon of Kings Mountain and Nadine Turner of
Kings Mountain; a brother-in-law, Dean Ashley of Lawndale; and four
grandchildren, Jonathon and Justin Blanton and Joseph and Brandon Poston, all of
Casar.
The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Blessed Way Baptist Church, with the
Revs. Tommy Cook, Wayne Blanton and Landon Rice officiating. The body will be
placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be at Rose Hill
Memorial Park.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
