Walter Jackson Bingham

POLKVILLE — Mr. Walter Jackson Bingham, 69, of 4603 Polkville Road, P.O. Box 98, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

A native of Cleveland County, he was born on Feb. 25, 1934, and was retired owner and operator of Bingham’s Plumbing and Hardware in Polkville and enjoyed farming. He was a member of Plains View Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph Bingham Sr. and Laura Essie Costner Bingham; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Lonnie Mae Neal; two brothers-in-law, Richard Neal and the Rev. Marshall Black; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Eve and Clyde Hallman and Magilene and Kemp Boyles; and three sisters-in-law, Christine Neal, Francis Neal and Mabel Bingham.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice Josephine Neal Bingham of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Dennis and Vickie Bingham of Fallston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ritta and Rickie Greene of Polkville and Darlene and David King of Fallston; three brothers and two sister-in-law, Harvey Bingham of Cherryville, Joe and Willie Bingham, and the Rev. Henry Jr. and Kay Bingham, all of Fallston; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Ann Ramsaur of Fallston, Shirlene and Thomas Lewis, Ellene and Franklin Lineberger, and Addie and Raeford Wright, all of Fallston; a grandson and his wife, Shannon and Lori Bingham of Fallston; a grandson and his wife, Michael and Krysti Terry of Shelby; a grandson and his wife, Delvin and Katrina King of Kings Mountain; a grandson, Doyle King of Shelby; a granddaughter and her husband, Dina and Brian Carson of Charlotte; a granddaughter, April Greene of Polkville; a granddaughter, Miranda Bingham of Fallston; eight great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Bingham, Maggi Terry, Ethan King, Alex Carson, Makayla Bingham, Mayci Terry, Deven King and Baby Boy King; two brothers-in-law, Adam Neal and B.E. Neal; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Charles Jr. and Wilma Neal, Clarence and Vinnie Neal, and Donald and Evelyeen Neal; a sister-in-law, Charity Black. He was the beloved uncle of 51 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Plains View Baptist Church, with the Revs. Alton Martin, Scott Norton and Bill Ewing officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home.
