Reid Edward Bedford



ELLENBORO - Mr. Reid Edward Bedford, 87, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at Rutherford Hospital.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Seth and Laura McDaniel Bedford. He was a retired machinist/electrician with Burlington Industries, Henrietta plant. He was a member of Mooresboro Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Oasis Temple, Thermal Belt Shrine Club, Ellenboro Woodmen of the World and Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Meredith Beam Bedford.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerrell and Pat Bedford of Forest City; one daughter and son-in-law, Elsie and Clayton Worley of Ellenboro; three grandchildren, Cindy Mayer, Steve Bedford and Gregg Bedford; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay Mayer, Jay Bedford, Matt Bedford, Haley Bedford and Dillon Bedford.

The funeral will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Dr. Norman Hubbard and the Rev. Eugene Passmore officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, and at other times at the home of Jerrell and Pat Bedford, Forest City.
