Lewis Franklin Scruggs

Feb. 1, 1945 - June 23, 2006
LAWNDALE — Mr. Lewis Franklin Scruggs, 61, of 3739 Rube Spangler Road, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 23, 2006, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center after fighting MS since 1973.
Mr. Scruggs was born in Rutherford County to the late Lonzie Burton Scruggs and Pearl Louise Philbeck Scruggs. He was an Army veteran and was a former Production Operator for Fiber Industries. He was a member of Polkville Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, L.D. Scruggs, Harold Scruggs and C.B. Scruggs; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Grigg; and a brother-in-law, Carroll Pritchard.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Elizabeth Jones Scruggs; “Mom,” Ora Jones; a brother, Billy Scruggs and wife, Susie, of Patterson Springs; sisters, Virginia Sigmon and husband, Howard, of Shelby, Annie Sue Greene and husband, James, of Shelby and Etta Mae Turner and husband, Brannon, of Caroleen; nieces and nephews, Beth, Billy, Kaley and Lindsey McCoy, Sammi, Phillip, Josh and Jacob Wortman, Fred Pritchard, C.B. Scruggs Jr., Angel and Ashton Scruggs, Jon, Angie, Elise and Justin Grigg, Rita Turner, Shelley and Greg Jones, Tony and Danell Scruggs, Charles and Toni Pritchard, Gary and Violet Pritchard, Fredi Smith, Chris Scruggs and Angie Scruggs; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha Jones and Charles Smith; brother-in-law, Owen Grigg, sister-in-law, Carolyn Pritchard and brother-in-law, Jackie Jones and wife, Agnes.
The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the very special nurses that cared for Mr. Scruggs: Joanne Fite, Laura Kendrick, Carrol Jolly and Terry Lyon
Visitation: The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home.
