Ruby Newton Costner

 
(October 9, 1921 - April 19, 2006)

Mrs. Ruby Newton Costner, 84, of 344 Woodrow Hoyle Road, Casar, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at her home.
Born in Cleveland County, to the late Julius Marvin Newton and Cornelia Lizzie Cook Newton. She retired from the Sewing Room of JP Stevens. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.

In addition to parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Costner; a granddaughter, Kelly Mosteller; a brother, Edison Newton and three sisters, Lona Buff, Annie Maude Walker and Hattie Newton.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Mosteller and husband, Samuel and Hilda Harris and husband, Charles Harvey, all of Casar; a granddaughter, Jill Lineberger and husband, Allen; a great-granddaughter, Emma Nicole Lineberger; a brother, Robbert Newton and wife, Helen of Casar; a sister, Wilma Walker and husband, Boyd, also of Casar and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2006 at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home just prior to the graveside service.
