Nellie Bridges Jones
SHELBY — Mrs. Nellie Bridges Jones, 78, of 1031
Mitchell St., died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Cleveland Regional
Medical Center.
She was born May 15, 1927, in Cleveland County and was the daughter of
the late Dewey Hubbard and Margaret Inez Carter Bridges. She retired
from the Lily Mill and was a member of Lafayette Street United Methodist
Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Harris C. “Bill” Jones; daughter, Carole Conley; and two grandchildren,
Wayne Heffner and Subrina Jones.
She is survived by two sons, Harris Darrell Jones and wife, Tammie, of
Polkville and David Herbert Jones and wife, Sherry, of Kings Mountain;
two daughters, Teresa Jones Lovette of Kings Mountain and Felicia Jones
Wray of Shelby; sister, Treva Wright of Shelby; two brothers, Bill
Hubbard Bridges and wife, Ramona, and Joseph P. Bridges and wife,
Jeanette, all of Shelby; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lafayette Street United Methodist
Church, with the Rev. A. Owen Peeler officiating. The body will be
placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial is in
Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Clay-Barnette
Funeral Home.
