Lawndale Bridge Collapses
26 Jan, 1946 - Doc Sweezy & Zone Peeler started across the crooked bridge with a load of bricks but the weight was too great & the bridge fell in. The boy in the center of the picture is my father, Caroll R. Pritchard. My grandmother was standing up on the mill side of the bank & not knowing the identity of the boy made the comment: "I'm sure glad my young'un has better sense than that!"
